Do you really think it is ? People do say, but these students are trying to make Pakistan like Taliban. I mean according to me Musharraf has nothing to do with it. He has just ordered the attack on the Mosque, which is Great !
As the drama of lal masjid is on its peak, the reluctance of Pakistan army and other para malitary forces to launch a full fledge operation in Lal Masjid, I doubt that there might some high figures from AQ may be hidden in this mosque, as Maulana abdul aziz was having some direct links to these people.
Who is hidden inside?? except for the Gazi Rasheed and his body gaurds?????
All these militants deserve a military action like this sooner than later. I am glad Musharraf decided to do this. All these extremist fanatics who think they are bigger than the law deserve this. I hope our media does not paint a romantic /filmi pic of women militants just ‘cuz they are women.. thay all deserve this. It needs to send a message to any Mullah doing terrorism in name of Islam!!

It’s about time that the government closed down the Lal Masjid and similar centres which give a bad name to both Islam and Pakistan. I am disgusted that the Musharraf government waited so long to act. From the beginning they could have created a cordon around the Mosque to isolate and starve the group until they came to their senses. I believe that the Lal Masjid drama was kept alive by Musharraf for a while because it serves his interests. That is to say he wants to show the world that if not for the dictatorship of Musharraf, Pakistan would head towards Taliban style anarchy. This is simply untrue because most Pakistanis are fed up with these silly extremists who are taking the law into their own hands. The problem is that the current President also took the law into his own hands when he dismissed the civilian Prime Minister and made himself President and Chief. Musharraf too has no authority and perhaps that’s why there is so much lawlessness throughout the country. Monkey see and monkey do. If the army chief can break the consitution and flout laws why shouldn’t everyone else. We need rule of law for all which is why I would vote for the suspended Chief Justice if he ever runs for office!
I am in doubt that we are really muslims? To get some benefit in form of Aids from foreign countries, we are ready to kill each other. What is all behind this issue is just politics. And they are killing the innocent peoples. I have a question to pakistan government and other people involved in this operation that they are hitting mosque ( the Home of Allah). The actions taken by Lal Masjid and adjacent school organisors like picking up of Chinese prostitutes, burning of Video casettes or any other similar adventures are highly condemned. In the presence of country’s laws and concerned authorities, no one can atke the law in the hands.
Having said that, the present level of issue seems as if intentially created by General Pervez Musharaf and his team. He is trying to support his utmost to the disgraced extremists group leaders – the US President Bush and ousted UK Prime Minister Tony Blair. Both Western leaders have lost their support in their own people. I can’t understand that why still Pervez Musharaf is still batting on the lost horse. And not only that but also puting his own country on very dangerous stage and whole nation in continous torture.
Where was the govt writ before today. Why the parents of the children in mosque are not allowed to vist their children and get them back. Why today members of parliament were arrested today ? Why the parliamentarians when allowed to visit today the mosque, heavy fire started by the govt. forces ? Why until now those children who many days before left the mosque are now still in jail ? Why electricity, gas, water are disconnected for the residents of the area in miles and miles. Because the govt has fear that public will supor them ? To me Pakistan means so much more than any leader – it’s time for Musharraf to go. He has shown himself to be an opportunist and incompetent. The poor kids in the Lal Masjid are still our people- good or bad. Months ago the government should have acted to close off the area around the school and encourage the students inside to leave. He kept the drama going on for so long for political mileage. He wants to show everyone in the West” Hey if not for me, look what will happen to this country”.If not for the abduction of the Chinese, he probably would have left the Lal Masjid alone for longer. China remains Pakistan’s only true friend and even an uneducated dictator like Musharraf realized that the Chinese could not be offended. It’s disgusting that he views Pakistani lives so cheaply. The death of even one Pakistani student is too a price to pay for Musharraf’s incompetence. With all of the aid money the West is providing to fight terrorism cannot the Army spend more on proper schools and insitutions for our kids. It’s wasted on corrupt generals and their pet projects. If Musharraf has any shame he should step down before he damages the nation more.

All due respect to the army and their supposed heroism, but if they die fighting against those who attempted to uphold the deen and the laws of Allah, can you imagine the state they will be raised up on on the day of qiyamah?
May Allah give martyrdom or victory to His true servants, in both cases, they’re successful. And to quote a female student of laal masjid, ‘we’ve worn our kaffans, and we’re ready’ and as imam ghazi said yesterday, ‘the students say we have done nothing wrong, and say they will never bow down before firawn’. That’s the strength this ummah needs.
I do not support extremisim, but when these people were fighting against Russia, they were world’s heroes and now, all of us are against them. If you use some one for a porpuse and then turn against him then he would be extremist against you.

Nadir I don’t think matters are as black and white as you present. I don’t support the government because it too is illegal and unconstitutional. Musharraf is the biggest embarrassment for Pakistan because he makes our country look like a Banana Republic ruled by the military. He comes across as an illiterate and uneducated man in the West – and not only because he is so poor in spooken English. He used the Lal Masjid folks for his own purposes and now he wants to pull the plug. It’s a shame that it has come to this.I want Pakistan to get back to a functioning democracy where there is rule of law for all. However the folks in the Lal Masjid were clearly taking the law into their own hands. Initially they were encouraged by Musharraf so he could show the world what he was up against but then after the incident with the Chinese he was forced to stop them. Musharraf is a criminal becasue he cares so little about Pakistan and her people. As for all the vice in Pakistan -Can we not fight against the injustices in Pakistan through peaceful means. Nadir, a real soldier of Islam would be against what is happening. Did anyone ever think that a holy and beautiful place as a masjid (House of ALLAH SWT) would ever be ground for war? Its not a points scoring game, we all should think about the root cause of all the unrest in our country and around the muslim world. The only solution to these issues is chosing the right path of islam. We should not just waste our time by blaming Musharraf or Moulana Brothers. We must have to think about the negative consequences and to prepare our self to combat with the repercusions. Everyone has the right of expression but we should look and study the circumstances. Always be positive.
We are giving opportunity to our so-called WELL WISHERS to laugh on us and to divide us as much as they can. We’re really in trouble and going thru a very very tough time of our history. Its not only the issue of Lal Masjid, Aunti Shamim, Library or Massage centres. But its an issue and problem of our country, province, city and our home. NAd I’m sure nobody will want to see their home like that.
So to say the mosque is being attacked. How conveniently the world is getting the impression that the people inside are traitors, culprits, terrorists. What has not surfaced is the fact that the two leaders that started this coo are ISI agents acting as Mr. Musharaf puppets. Their ultimate goal; eliminate all the madrasas in Islamabad, fill hated among the people for din and create a police state where no sect will be able to practice their beliefs openly. A shameful attempt to deceive the West and USA…! Human rights organizations must take notice. A military dictator should not be let to keep on at the cost of lives of innocent citizens. Blood of Ladies and children is being used to fuel the illegitimate Musharraf regime. Can USA and West be inspired by this drama which has many flaws if we have a closer look at it? Civil administration and mosque administration touched a peaceful solution many times but always sabotaged by the military regime. “Shoot at sight” orders for media personnel at the time of final operation tells that military regime wants to hid the facts from pubic and international media.
According to my point of view, all the political parties that are in exile and in Pakistan are united and behind this. They are using the extremists to breakdown Musharaf’s leadership. These extremists and the ignorant burden of Pakistani society should be warned to get back on normal track, if not, there’s no other solution than getting them all together and burning them all!

At last, Maulana Abdur Rasheed Ghazi and other Mujahideen have been martyred. May Allah be pleased with them all and let them enter the Paradise for their Shahada. Maulana Ghazi spoke for truth and got perished for it. If anyone analyzes what he said to the media at different times regarding the current crisis, he will found no contradiction in his talks, and it is a fake allegation by the Govt. that he changes his statements continuously. Maulana Ghazi and his elder brother were deceived by the Govt. who did not negotiated sincerely with these brothers. Yesterday, when our respected clerics were trying to resolve this situation through peaceful means and there had been prepared a draft for it and Maulana Ghazi and the ministers with the help of clerics were very near of the peaceful resolution, musharraf interrupted and amended in that draft which ended all these negotiations. He always wants to deal with any situation through gun-point. He likes bloodshed and wants to ruin our country through his dictatorship. Even media personnel are restricted to practice their duties honestly.
in the end I will request people here to make a Dua’a for these Shaheed Mujahideen, and also to get rid of Mr. President.
I too am disappointed to see the unecessary loss of life in the Lal Masjid debacle. It is an embarrassment for Pakistan and shows the incompetence of Musharraf and his dictatorship. This whole matter could have been settled long ago through peaceful means. It’s all a political drama and the poor students have been manipulated by the government and the Mullahs. I’ve said this before : the people in the Lal Masjid are our fellow Pakistanis- they were duped by both the military and the Mosque leaders. We need to create real educational opportunities for our fellow citizens. As for these Maddrasahs I’m sorry there is no role for any type of vigilante actions. Just because Musharraf disrespects the laws of Pakistan doesn’t mean other Pakistanis have the right to take the law into their own hands. Let’s learn to fight for our beliefs through constitutional and legal means. We might just strengthen our institutions and create a civil society in the process- the progressive social democratic Islamic state envisioned by Iqbal!

Dear Fellow Pakistanis, Before everyone starts beating the “ISLAMIC DRUM” and portraying as the best Muslims hence declaring all others, “moderates”, KAFIRS, why don’t you take a little test of your own Islamic knowledge. The question is in our society what percentage approves of a marriage with an “ahle-kitab”? Answer this to yourself, I would guess your answer would range from 70% to a 100%. Now please answer that of those people that accept such a marriage, how many will be willing to eat a regular McDonald’s beef burger in the West (since such a burger is said to be haram)? I would guess the answer to range in atleast 60% to 80% of those who accept the ahle-kitab marriage. The Quran clearly states that both the food and women (in marriage) of ahle-kitab are halal now think of it this way, why did our Islamic “SCHOLARS” only made the food haram and women halal (of ahle-kitab). Can it be to satisfy the greater animal urge that women of ahle-kitab were made halal and food (the lesser of urge under normal circumstances) made haram. Listening to what Allah has said in Quran, either they should both be halal or both be haram, there is no room for exclusion or extortion of Al-Maeda no. 5 as its logic requires no tafseer. The words used are women, food, halal, haram, all these words are extremely common in Quran thus no linguistic problem can be there either. My intent is to show you the extent hypo-criticism in our society.
My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, we have a book that was sent to us from Allah, please take it out of the covers and start reading it and you would come to know that you do not need MAULANA ABDUL RASHEED GHAZI to teach you Islam. Islam teaches patience and not torching of government buildings and vehicles. If any one of you can find an instance where a house of a non-Muslim was burnt EVER in the times of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the answer will be NO.
Now at the end let me give you all a little time-line of how we Pakistanis got to the shameful occurring of the last week. In 1977, Prime Minister ZA Bhutto, took out the genie of radicalism (please do not mix islam with radicalism and terrorism by calling it Islamic radicalism, there is no such thing) by politicizing religion and drawing a clear line through our already divided society by banning alcohol, oh by the way wasn’t Bhutto a ‘fish’ when it came to drinking himself? Then came the doomed era of Zia-ul-Haq (the reason I do not write General is that 99% of our Army is same people as you and me and only 1% are the real problem the people on top). Zia used religion for his own vested interests and for the interests of everyone else. The genie grew. Then came Ms. Bhutto, who claims to be the biggest liberal of Pakistan but forgets that it was during her time that Taliban were created under the due supervision of Mr. Nasir Ullah Babar and if she tries to tell her that Taliban were created by ISI, please ask her why did she not resign, if she was so powerless? As for Nawaz Sharif and other Mulla lot, we all know the foundries and the diesel permits and all. Then came Mr. Musharaf, he is not much different than others either however the only problem is that yesterday he tried to go after the genie that has been fed and blown out of proportion since 1977. Let us all pray for ALL those who died and lets also pray that our shameful leaders on both sides of the divide get some fear of Allah (the one mentioned in Quran). Allah Hafiz.

A good citizen of world thinks regardless of religion, race and color. If you can’t give positive and liberal point of view, don’t write down extremism supporting bullshit comments. We needed leader like Musharaf long time before. Enough of Arab influence on Pakistani culture, it has to end up! Our society needs broad minded people judging people not with their religions, colors and nationalities but as a person. Islam is not as complicated as these Mulla guys have made in Pakistan.
I agree that Islam is not a complicated religion and that some of our Mullahs are misguided. However the last thing we need is an illiterate and incompetent leader like Musharraf who stumbles from one problem to the next. It’s not just that Musharraf comes across like a clown in the world with no authority. The military has a job: defend the borders of Pakistan- not to involve itself with managing the country. He has taken the professionalism away from the Pakistan Army and engrossed the army in corruption. Transparency International (European Think Tank) rates the Musharraf government more corrupt than either BB government or Nawaz Sharif. My friend we are all Pakistan- forget about individual leaders- let’s talk about creating institutions and systems where we are all collectively building our beloved Pakistan. Let’s not look for leaders and heros to save us- we can save ourselves by starting to respect our laws and constitution. Let’s bring back any form of democracy before the ignorance of Musharraf causes more damage.
Although it’s unfair for military to involve in managing the countries politics but what have the politicians before Musharaf given to us EXCEPT corruption, poverty and freedom of practicing extremism in terms of religion. You are right we all have to build up future of this country but not with involving religion into Politics: by not imposing the sharia law. I think General Pervaiz Musharaf was forced by the Militants to take extreme steps of use of force inside a mosque. We being muslims should be ashamed of the fact that our Religious Teachers who claim to be doing Jehad are using women and childrens as a sheild. Any one that can take a weapon inside a mosque or have bombs stored inside a mosque should not be considered a Shaheed / Martyr. This situation was created by Islamic Extremists and outside forces that do not want political stability in Pakistan. Sharia law is used as a cover to create instability in the country.
I just hope that we all can see this and agree that Islam does not teach all this. I hope that after this operation the Government and specially General Musharaf would clean up the Red Mosque area and do necessary repairs or rebuild the Mosque and hopefully place people in the mosque that actually preach Islam and not violence.
We as a country have suffered enough due to inside forces that work against our country. Its about time that we progress and show the world that we are not a third world country anymore.
Shah why not ask impartial agencies around the world how they grade the military in Pakistan- our corruption ranking under Musharraf is worse than either BB or Nawaz Sharif! As for our economic and health indices they are just as dismal. This despite all the aid we are getting for the so called war on terror. Nawaz or BB didn’t receive the loot that Musharraf is getting from the West. Ultimately we have to return to a democratic dispensation with strong institutions. If Musharraf has any respect for the military or Pakistan he should step down now and return the country to elected leaders- good or bad that is our destiny- not to be ruled by an illiterate incompetent like Musharraf!
Years of Musharraf rule has brought ridicule to Pakistan on the world stage; Do you not remember the Washingtom Post headlines when he was caught in his own lies. First claiming that women in Pakistan were purposely getting themselves raped to get immigration and then denying he would say such a stupid thing. The newspaper (Washington Post)simply released the recording of him saying the very words he denied saying. I am too much a Pakistani to let our nation remain as a military dictatorship/Banana Republic with someone like Musharraf at the helm.
Mahmood, no leader in the entire world history has been perfect and perhaps won’t be but you can see their work done with comparing them with each other and the progress they’ve made in their time. You can’t just be chief of army staff if you are illiterate. There are times when military powers are necessary to control the situation in country, otherwise Muhammad Ali Jinnah wouldn’t have asked for a new country on the basis of uncontrollable religious discrimination and extermism. Even though it was more about gaining leadership because a non-religious man drinking alcohol has got to have a purpose behind asking for a new country for Muslims ONLY. The problem with our country’s is that our candidates for presidency are corrupt so it’s unsafe to give away country in such hands by playing the election drama once again. It’s also unrealistic to think of Pakistan without Musharraf and freedom of religious extremism at the same time. Elected candidates just can’t control it this way.
Shah, Jinnah established and secured Pakistan through patently constitutional means- he was a lawyer and man of principle who envisioned Pakistan as a functioning democracy. (I’m not talking about his personal habits or lifestyle)If you look back there are several instances in which he explicity spoke of the military’s role as being subservient to the elected executive. As for extremsim and religious discrimination, I believe such social ills are fostered under the military set up. Read the New York Times analysis and the Washington Post analysis of the last two days. Both refer to increasing instability under the current dictatorship beacause a military ruler such as Musharraf has no moral authority to lead a consitutional democracy. We don’t need to control anyone in Pakistan- we need to educate our fellow citizens and develop institutions. Why are so many Pakistanis successful in other parts of the world when we find it so difficult to succeed at home- it’s not for lack of talent but because we have yet to respect institutions. Tell me honestly, if another army officer were to walk into the Presidential suite and kick out Musharraf we would all say it’s unlawful but who’s to stop it. People like Musharraf have done it so why shouldn’t anyone else. At some point we have to get on with the exercise of democracy. Incidentally I do think that Musharraf is a fucntional illiterate apart from being incompetent. Trust me we’ve had many Chiefs of Army staff who have been incompetent if you look back. Musharraf was made Chief by Nawaz Sharif superceding even more senior Generals becasue the latter thought him pliant- just like Bhutto did with Zia. I Hope that this time the dictator is charged in court to send a clear message to other usurpers of civil society not to interfere in government. So it goes but I pray for Pakistan and for the development of institutions.

I think that the conversation is getting a bit of topic. Our Army may not have decisively win any war but we kept our much bigger neighbour at bay in 1948 and 1965. As for the limited skirmish at the Rann of Kutch most observers say we were winning but our own leaders slowed things down. I often wonder whether a better strategy would have improved the outcome of the 1965 war since things were intially going in our favour. I am from Sialkot district and my parents and grandparents always spoke proudly of the military and the sacrifices made especially at the battle of Chawinda. Although we lost the 1971 war our hands were tied due to the political incompetence of military leaders and the rebellion. Otherwise our military has remained a formidable deterrent agaisnt aggression by our more powerful neighbours. We should never dismiss the role of our military in safegaurding our sovereignty but it should have no role in running our country. Musharraf himself is responsible for tarnishing the image and professionalism of the Pakistani military. I know it’s hard to support the military when they try to restore law and order against groups such as the Lal Masjid. It’s not the fault of the rank and file soldiers or jawans that the Generals and Musharraf are corrupt and incompetent. Getting back to your original point maybe a dedicated SWAT team formed from police units would be better to deal with this type of challenge instead of the Pakistani Army.
I agree that lal masjid folks took law into own hands but they did highlight failure of law and order. Islamabad is full of brothels and alcohol is freely available. The authorities have been knocking down masjids to grab prime land which they will from lal masjid too since you probably heard precursor words that buildings occupied government land.
Remember kargil, unprovoked war , guess who was leading that , yes general saab. He has also given alcohol licenses to ministers in view of legalizing it since baba bush only visits countries which server him his favorite.
Comments from people are so alarming and based on media lies spread by government. Arms were given by government no doubt and the later display is joke , if they had rockets and other heavy arms, why didn’t they use them, were they saving them for life after death.
Another comment on talk failures, government say he was buying time, my question is time for what ?, he had no water no electric bad air running out of food ..He was buying more time for what?

I am not pleased whenever there is any loss of life in Pakistan; they are all our people from the soldier who is following orders to the brainwashed kids inside the madressas. We need to have proper schools and opportunities for our kids. Perhaps we should direct more of our resources to education and the strenghtening of insitutions but our leadership is corrupt from the top. Look at Musharraf’s Book tour- taking Pakistani state money to go on a trip to promote a book while you are sitting as a President. I agree that Musharraf is giving the Pakistani Army a bad name. Sher Kohh, I’m the first to acknowledge the faults of the Pakistani Military but I don’t blame the rank and file Jawans but the leadership. It is the leadership, especially Musharraf who has taken a proud insitution and sullied its reputation among the public. We can’t deny the efforts and sacrifices made by Jawans in the last wars and their steadfastness in dealing with an enemy larger in number and better equipped. You are probably right that poor logistics forced our Jawans to undertake heroic self sacrificing measures to stop Indian tanks at Chawinda. The point is the soldiers were prepared to lay down their lives for the nation and they did without hesitation. Our Generals and Musharraf have grown fat off corruption in their civilian roles but I still don’t blame the Jawan who is likely a hardy, upright dignified Pakistani villager who is doing his job. I’ve already said that any loss of life in Pakistan is deplorable, including the senseless loss of life at the Lal Masjid- they are our fellow citizens and each one of their lives is as valuable as ours. Musharraf used the poor students for his own political gains. He could have shut down the Masjid months ago or simply surrounded the area to slowly force the management to its senses. Musharraf can’t understand this becuse he too is illegally occupying the seat of the President. I believe Musharraf shouuld be charged with treason to send a message to people that you can’t disrepect the laws and consitution of Pakistan.
Brothers and sisters, 24 NaPak Army security personnel got killed and other 29 are wounded in Miranshah in a suicide attack this morning. These sort of attacks have become a routine since the “Operation Silence” had imposed on Lal Masjid. “Operation Silence” over the Innocent people has given birth to a much bigger “Operation Silence”, in which the Mujahideen will teach the NaPak Army, what does “Operation” mean? Insha-Allah, the day is not so far when Musharraf will be killed in an “Operation”. ALLAH(SWT) will take the best revenge of this brutality committed by the American dog Busharraf and his NaPak Army.

I’m not aware of all the sayings on the streets of Pakistan against Musharraf but I’ve heard my share of anti Musharaf comments. For years I’ve heard folks call Musharraf Bey sharraf . More important than this verbal rhetoric would be political agitation and protests to bring down the dictatorship and return Pakistan to a fucntioning democracy as envisioned by her founders. Rule of law and respect for our counsitution should be the mantra. I have a lot of faith in the new generation of Pakistanis who are sick of corruption and incompetence. I just want progress and stability in my beloved Pakistan. Political leades won’t matter when we have insitutions and a framework. Leaders will come and go but the system will remain- as in the West. It’s 2007 and Pakistan can be so much more than what it is- we all know we are better than the Arabs, Iranians or Afghanis in terms of intelligence and work ethic. It’s insulting that even the little Indians next door are progressing when the martial races of Pakistan are falling behind- Why should a venture capitalist in Europe or America invest in a dictatorship. I’m tired of being run by ignorant and illiterate military men who make our nation of 160 million look like a Banana Republic. Let’s show the world we are a principled nation by not calling for anyone’s death- rather work for democracy through mass action. When rule of law and the consitution is restored, criminals like Musharraf should be brought to trial and charged with treeason after due process. This would send a message to the world and also to future corrupt military Generals that the fate of all who violate the consitution will be the same- shame and ignomy.
Why must everyone make this political? Yes it is mainly to be considered in a political concept, but look at it individually, the moulana Ghazi was so brain-washed, that his mother was dying in his lap, he still had a hard-heart.. you would think that at that moment, he will surrender. Toh aisa banda kisi aur bachay yah aurat ki parwah kyun aur kesay karega?? He just cares about his selfish reasons, which is that he wants to dictate the nation. He is DEMANDING control over the entire country, AND is blackmailing the nation with lives of children and women.

This operation is dark lesson in the history of pakistan. We strickly protest this operataion as it may be solved by dialogues but unfortunately some dirty eggs do not like to solve this major issue by positive manner. We pray that ALLAH desroy these peoples as he destroy the peace of our country.

We all follow the tenets of Islam to our best understanding but it is not wise to let our emotions get the better of us. I am the first to say that the Lal Masjid affair was a fiasco brought about by a corrupt and illiterate Military General and his cabal of corrupt followers. However, it is unfair of accusing anyone in a Muslim nation, especially the common foot soldiers of our military of burning the holy Quran or throwing our holy book in the gutter. An act of such depravity simply isn’t possible. These type of comments do not serve any constructive purpose in the debate to return Pakistan to a civil society where there is rule of law and religious freedom as laid out in our constitution. My pint remains that a military dictator has no moral authority in the eyes of the people which is why everyone feels they are entitled to take the law into their own hands. If Musharraf can seize power illegally, ram road whatever he wants down the throats of Pakistanis and continue with a level of corruption greater than Nawaz or BB – surely no Pakistani will believe in rule of law. For this Musharraf must be tried for treason to send a message to all and sundry that our laws will be respected. Those who do not will pay a price.

We are all Muslims and we all respect places of worship, mosques or otherwise. It is a fundamental premise of our faith. Having said that, what does a civil society do when members of the mosque take the law into their own hands. If they feel so stronlgy about imposing Islamic laws in the land, why not work legally within the system to push for laws and action against acts which are felt to be unislamic. My main point of contention is that we need to build a civil society run by laws and our constitution. I know what most Western newspapers are saying. They believe strongly that Musharraf’s illegal occupation of the presidency and abrogation of laws creates lawlessness and insecurity. People see that Musharraf can do as his wish with no regard for the laws, so why should the Lal Masjid folks follow any laws?
I believe that all Pakistanis need to follow our laws and respect our consitution. We are not some Afghanistan- our people are not Arabs, Persians, Turks or Afghanis- we are Pakistanis and as such we should hold ourselves to higher accountability by establishing rule of law. In short both Musharraf and the Lal Masjid folks are law breakers- you decide who is the bigger law breaker- maybe Musharraf becasue he has set the whole thing in motion. By the way I still believe the Lal Masjid affair was initially orchestrated by Musharraf himself.
