Pakistan has ancient ruins of Gandhara and six top mountain peaks out of twelve are here, which have great attraction for tourists. Islamabad was an ever expanding and most attractive city of the country saying the coming up five-star hotels and other high rise buildings would be impressive addition to it.
Pakistan’s economy was growing and there was always need for world standard hospitality services. Islamabad was also an IT capital and many companies were opening offices here and IT parks coming up.
The international activities in Islamabad and other parts of the country would take a boost with the construction of modern airport which would be connected with Motorway so that guests could come and go back with ease.
The construction of five-star hotel adjacent to Jinnah Convention Centre along with providing job opportunities to hundreds of people during its construction and on completion would also benefit a number of industries.
The project would be completed as soon as possible and would provide world-class facilities to the visitors. Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao expressed the hope that the Grand Hyatt would be a landmark for Islamabad’s development.
He said a lot of high-rise buildings are being built in Islamabad including more five star hotels. Sherpao said that besides five-star hotels, a number of three-star and budget hotels would also be constructed in the federal capital.
Chief Executive of BNP Group, Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, said the hotel would provide all the necessary and expected amenities of world-class five-star hotel. He said the hotel would provide ample facilities to hold international conferences, conventions and other event and it would also be the first hotel of the Grant Hyatt chain of hotels in Pakistan.
He said Pakistan offers a very secure investment opportunities to the investors. The Grand Hyatt Hotel will be completed at a cost of $260 million and would be ready for opening at the end of 2009.
The project would be raised on a plot measuring 13.5 acres purchased from the Capital Development Authority for Rs4 billion and it would have 360 rooms and 200 service apartments.
Why on the third pic the top lights on the building are the same that the bottom one? It will be like that?
Almost all lights are same. What difference does it make if the top lights matches the lights in the bottom ?

I hate to say it but I’m not very impressed with the recent upsurge of real estate projects and hotels. I would prefer to see fundamental positive changes in our economy such as direct foreign investment in technology and manufacturing in order to create jobs. The hotel sector doesn’t strike me as any long term fix for our fundamental challenges- we need to put our talented people to work and provide opportunity. Moroever, we all know that the infrastructure in all of our cities can’t handle the current construction boom- the traffic in Lahore and Islamabad is horrible. When I last went to Pindi there was no parking available on the streets. Too many cars (those loans will come back to haunt us) and no improvement of the existing infrastructure. Forget about buildings and improve our infrastructure please!!!!
Shaukat Aziz and Musharraf have received so little for helping the West one wonders why Pakistanis don’t complain more about these self styled and self appointed rulers. I keeep hoping that a new generation of young Pakistanis who have seen the world will return home to help build institutions and start real progress in our beloeved homeland.
Grand Hyatt Hotel Islamabad, will be the credible increase in the beauty of Islamabad, and specially through this hotel the educated young people will also get the jobs, no doubt it will boost up the financial and economical values of the city , but the real approach of the business man like Mr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh would be that there should be a smooth, peaceful and businees oriented enviorment in Pakistan, for the growth of Hotel business. but it is not existing now a days. No foreigner is willing to travel pakistan and all the opprtunaties of Tourism in the Northeren areas specially in Swat valley have been destroyed badly due to the military operation.
So it is the first job of the valuable businessman to do something for the peaceful Pakistan, only then the hotel industry will be successful in Pakistan, If we just look at the International market of Five Star hotels , we can easily judge that the business of Five star hotels is 70% based on Tourism and good Industrial economic position, but unfortunately both are not available in pakistan in sufficient weight.
Any how the addidation of Grand Hyatt Hotel Islamabad is a good sign.
